Within each room, you can create subfolders for specific tasks or locations to make access easier and keep everything perfectly organized.

Tagging and metadata - When uploading a file, bauBob automatically adds a timestamp and location data. You can also add custom tags and notes via voice-to-text. These tags allow you to easily filter and group related items later.

Powerful search and filters - The platform offers keyword search across titles, descriptions and tags, as well as filters by date, progress tags or custom tags. This allows you to quickly find the right photos or documents - even for projects with thousands of files.

Connect everything important. Attach photos and documents directly to defect reports, checklists and handover logs - no more isolated files. Every update, like a new progress photo, is logged in the file history so your entire team is always on the same page.

Add notes & tags - Quickly add context with voice-to-text or a short note. bauBob automatically tags your files with a timestamp, geotag and progress or custom tags when uploading. You can also tag specific items or categories - so everything stays organized and easy to find.

bauBob is designed for construction sites where the connection can be unreliable. The offline mode ensures that you can continue to document the work - even without a signal:

Record offline and queue - If you are working in an area without internet, you can still record photos, videos and voice notes as usual. The app saves these files locally on your device - including timestamps, location data and any tags or descriptions you have added.

Automatic synchronization when connected - As soon as your device has a data connection again, bauBob automatically uploads the saved media in the background. The files are assigned to the correct project space and seamlessly integrated into existing reports or objects - without any extra effort on your part.

This seamless offline-to-online workflow means you no longer have to worry about lost documentation due to poor connectivity. You can focus on capturing the information you need on site - and bauBob will take care of the synchronization once you're back online.

Template-based report creation - Start with built-in templates for common requirements such as daily reports, defect reports, checklists or handover protocols. Each template includes predefined fields for dates, weather, progress notes, images and signatures, so reports are always structured in a consistent way.

Collaborative editing - bauBob allows multiple team members to work together on a report. Comments, markups and changes are tracked, providing a clear history of who did what and when.

Automatic formatting & exporting - Once a report is finished, it is automatically converted into a professional PDF document with your company logo and colors. With just one click, you can share it via link or email it to clients, architects or subcontractors.

Centralized archive & search - All reports are stored together with the media and objects of your project. A centralized search allows you to find reports by date, room, day or subcontractor involved - so you have the right document at your fingertips for inspections or disputes.

Within bauBob's media upload and reporting workflows, the speech-to-text and auto-translation feature makes it easy to document in your preferred language - while keeping the information accessible to an international team. How it works:

Speech to text - When you add notes to a photo, report or object, you can tap the microphone icon and speak your description. The app automatically transcribes your speech into text in the original language - saving you typing on the construction site.

Automatic translation - After the description has been recorded, bauBob automatically recognizes the source language and translates it into the preferred language of the respective user (set in the profile). For example, a foreman can speak his comments in German and a colleague using the app in English will immediately see the English translation.

Original preview - To ensure accuracy and context, the app displays both the translated and original transcription side by side. Users can review the transcription and translation and, if necessary, edit the original note before finalizing it.

This two-view approach allows each team member to work in their native language - without communication barriers. This keeps the documentation clear and reduces misunderstandings on multilingual projects.

Create defects - Whether you discover a problem while walking around the site or reviewing photos later, creating a defect is easy. Tap the "Defect" option, take a new photo or select an existing image and add a description via voice-to-text. You can immediately assign a priority, category and responsible person.

Convert existing media - If you have already uploaded photos or videos to a project room, you don't need to capture them again. Simply select the relevant medium and convert it into a defect. The original metadata (timestamp, location, tags) is automatically transferred - this saves time and ensures consistency.

Tracking and resolution - Each defect has its own status (e.g. open, completed), a responsible person and a due date. Responsible persons receive notifications, can add comments or additional media and change the status according to progress. This creates transparent traceability of who did what and when.

Defect reports - When it's time to share progress with stakeholders, bauBob creates a structured report of all open or resolved defects. These reports include photos, descriptions, responsible parties and status updates, professionally formatted and exportable as a PDF. This allows you to easily provide proof of execution and responsibilities during acceptance or inspections.
